A team of determined staff from Prime Bank has successfully reached Point Lenana, Mount Kenya’s third-highest peak, capping a challenging climb that blended corporate team spirit with a profound philanthropic mission. The expedition, led by the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Dinesh Nayak, aimed to raise KShs. 1.5 million for the Nyumbani Children’s Home.
The initiative, dubbed a “Climb for Compassion,” was designed to achieve a dual objective: foster internal team cohesion through a significant physical challenge and make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The successful summit of the 4,985-meter peak symbolizes the bank’s commitment to scaling new heights in both service and social responsibility.
Speaking after the descent, Mr. Dinesh Nayak emphasized the deeper purpose behind the arduous journey. “This was more than just a climb; it was a testament to our collective resolve,” said Nayak. “Every step up the mountain was taken with the knowledge that we were stepping up for a cause greater than ourselves. The funds raised will make a meaningful contribution to the wonderful work done by Nyumbani Children’s Home, providing care and support to those who need it most.”
The funds raised, totaling KSh 1.5 million, will be directed towards supporting the daily needs, education, and welfare of the children at Nyumbani Children’s Home, an organization dedicated to caring for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
The achievement highlights Prime Bank’s culture of uniting corporate ambition with community engagement. By channeling the spirit of adventure into charitable action, the bank has demonstrated a powerful model of how businesses can actively participate in creating positive social impact. The successful expedition marks a significant milestone in the bank’s ongoing commitment to corporate citizenship.
